Tire-Free Rivers
Saint John River, New Brunswick

Saint John, #s 27-31

numbers 30 and 31
Numbers 30 and 31, Saint John River, Ken Corbett, July 30, 2007. I couldn't find a passer-by to photograph me with the other three, nrs. 27-28-29.

I also hooked a bike and dredged it from undeneath the walking bridge. It was broken and rusted, unfortunately.
27-31 in the tire pile
I hauled all five tires and the bike to the dumpster and tire pile behind Craig's Tire, which was just up the shore behind the walking trail. I didn't tell them, but they won't know the difference.
Truck tires
I also removed a monster truck tire, but I didn't want to risk my back by rolling it up the bank by myself. I hope to get some help soon, and come back for it. You can see there is an even larger 500-pound tire behind it.
Update
other monster truck tire
There is another 500-pounder just behind these two, under a few branches. The City of Fredericton has acquired this property, and I suspect they will need a tractor to remove these behemoths.
